How it works

Where each status comes from, how often we read it, and what the colours mean.

  1. 01

    Where the status comes from

Official status pages and feeds only, for 276 services. We never guess: every status and update links to its source.

    • status.openai.com
    • www.githubstatus.com
    • status.stripe.com
  2. 02

    How often we check

Every few minutes. Each row shows when we last read it; hover for the exact time.

    What each state means

    • OperationalEverything the service reports is working.
    • Degraded performanceWorking, but slower or with errors in some parts.
    • Partial outageSome parts of the service are down.
    • Major outageThe service, or most of it, is down.
    • MaintenancePlanned work the service announced. Never red.
    • Status unknownWe can’t read its status page right now.

    The bars

    • No issues
    • Minor, regional or under 10 min: a small tick
    • Partial outage
    • Major outage
    • No data yet, before we started tracking

    Regions

Big clouds are shown per region. An outage in one or two regions shows “2 regions affected”, it doesn’t turn the whole service red.

    • me-south-1
    • af-south-1
    • ap-east-1

  5. 05

    Long-term outages

Down for more than 30 days with no change? We set it aside. It stays on the service’s page, but isn’t counted in its status or uptime.

  6. 06

    Less noise

    • 2 checksA change counts only after two checks in a row agree.
    • <10 minIncidents under 10 minutes show as a small tick, not a red bar.
    • Never redMaintenance is planned work, so it is never shown as an outage.
